Bryan Ferry - Rock Legends

Bryan Ferry was born into a northern working-class family as the Second World War came to a close. His father handled pit ponies for the surrounding coal mines. Whilst studying fine art at Newcastle University, Ferry became exposed to the R&B, jazz and soul records that came in via the city's shipping ports. Ferry moved to London's Notting Hill at the start of the 1970s. It was here that he would quickly form his band, Roxy Music. He had such a strong vision for the band that before signing to Island Records he had the band's debut album and artwork completed. The first single, Virginia Plain was so remarkable in its maturity it entered the UK charts at number four .
